What is Arm Liposuction?

Arm liposuction is the process of removing the excess fat from the arm area surgically. Arm liposuction is great for those people who want to contour their arms and make them slimmer. By removing the unwanted fat from the arms, such as the 'bingo wings' the arms will appear more in proportion with the rest of the body.

Arm lipo will normally take a couple of hours to complete, but it all depends on how much fat needs to be removed. The more fat there is that needs to be removed, the longer it will take.

At the beginning of the procedure you will have injection in your arm to numb the area, this will make the arm liposuction more comfortable for you, as once the area is numb the liposuction surgeon will make small incision into your skin. The surgeon makes these small incisions so they can insert the cannula, which is the tube used to suction the fat out of the body. In 2 hours is it possible to remove up to 10 litres of fat from the body.

Recovery period after Arm Liposuction

Even though you won't have to stay in overnight after arm lipo, it is advisable that you arrange for someone to take you home as you won't be able to drive. Within 3 days you should be able to get back to your normal activities, as long as they aren't too strenuous. You should expect some bruising and swelling of the arms after the liposuction, but this should clear up within 1 month of the arm liposuction surgery.
